York University Microfabrication Facility (YMF)
The York University Microfabrication Facility (YMF), jointly supported by the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and the Lassonde School of Engineering, is one of Canada’s leading research facilities for micro- and nanotechnology. Located on York University’s Keele campus in the northern Greater Toronto Area, the facility houses a Class 10,000 Photolithography Lab alongside a dedicated Thin Film Lab, providing advanced infrastructure for cutting-edge research and development.
YMF is the first facility at York University to offer a comprehensive, one-stop solution for micro- and nano-device prototyping and production. It supports a wide range of multidisciplinary research areas, including microelectronics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), microfluidics, bioengineering, and space engineering.
As a qualified member of the MicroFAB Access programme through FABrIC and a listed facility on the Research Facilities Navigator, YMF welcomes both internal and external users from academia and industry. Our mission is to provide a research environment that is accessible, collaborative, and cost-effective for all users.
