ABOUT

Initiative: YMF is jointly supported by CFI and Lassonde School of Engineering in York University. The original goal of the project is to reinforce the world-class research of Space Engineering in York University. Due to the increasing need for an on-campus and one-stop micro/nano-fabrication solution, YMF pivoted to serve a broader fields of research relying on advanced micro/nano-fabrication tools and processes.

Mission: We focus on enhancing the University-wide micro/nano-fabrication capability, encouraging exploration of microsystem technologies in traditional fields of study, and boostering multi-disciplinary research collaboration. We provide access to cutting-edge equipment and establish a knowledge hub for the scientific community of York University, external academic researchers and industrial partners.

Envision: We expect our facility to provide a high-standard cleanroom environment with a versatile equipment portfolio which will meet various needs of users from different research background. We will not only offer great contribution to advancing academic research in York University, but also will help industrial customers connect with academic groups, improve their existing technology and expedite their innovation.

Partners: We work with advanced microscopic labs in York University, CMC Microsystems and VentureLAB. Together, we endeavour to provide a complete prototyping and fabrication environment and services for our users dedicated to novel micro/nano-technologies .
